Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the design process take?

Usually we take between 4 – 6 weeks from initial consultation to deliver your jewellery. If you need it sooner, please ask. It depends on our current workloads and commitments but we will certainly do our best to make your jewellery for you.

What is your design process?

  • Consultation – Where possible we prefer to meet you in person and will usually visit clients at their home and bring our collections with us. Alternately you can visit us at our head office in Chester or we can discuss your requirements over the telephone.
  • Quotation – Once we have established what you are looking for we will send a quotation for the jewellery via email (although a rough indication of price is usually given at the consultation). We will ask you to confirm your order via email.
  • Order Confirmation – We will confirm the order with you and will request a 50% deposit (usually via Paypal but a cheque or postal order are also accepted)
  • Order Dispatched – Once the deposit has been received we will start work and contact you once your order is ready to be dispatched to request the remaining 50% payment. Your order will usually be sent Royal Mail Special Delivery unless an alternative method is agreed (pick up for example).

Can your designs be adapted?

We treat our collections as a starting point to help you decide what you are looking for. At the consultation you can try on our designs and find out what you like and what you don’t. We can then either create an exact replica of a collection piece or adapt designs by changing colours, length, look. We can also amalgamate two designs together or take aspects from one and create something unique. It’s our job to ask the right questions so we can produce your perfect piece for you.

Can you incorporate sentimental pieces of jewellery into your designs?

Absolutely, it’s quite a regular request from clients.

Is there anywhere I can go to view your designs?

We will bring our collections to you, you can visit our main workshop (based at Emma’s house in Chester) or you can come and say hello at one of the wedding shows we attend throughout the year (details of which are sent out on our newsletter and are on the news page of the site).

What methods of payment do you accept?

We prefer to receive payment via paypal and will request this via email. Alternatively you can pay by cheque or postal order, made payable to Frill and sent to Church Farm, Church Lane, Guilden Sutton, Cheshire CH3 7EW

I’ve seen a piece I like in a magazine, can you copy it?

Unfortunately not, it’s illegal. We can use it as inspiration to design you your own original piece of jewellery, but we can’t replicate the piece.
